Question for my fellow 2007 t4r owners and apologies if this has been covered (I did a search and didn’t uncover anything). What has your brake wear been like? I have a 2007 Sport V8 with around 61,000 miles. I had the brakes replaced 21,000 miles ago and when I had my last service 5000 miles ago the front had 8mm and the rear had 6mm remaining (rear never replaced). About 500 miles ago I started noticing a light grinding sound as I come to a stop. Performance feels fine just not sure what to make of the sound.
Do you think it’s possible to wear down the remaining 8mm in 5000-6000 miles? I am not light on my brakes and recently went on an 800 mile road trip across 3 mountain passes. Could be brakes, could be a rock, could be…
I know it’s as easy as taking it in but that’s always a pain. Just wanted to see what other owners experiences were with their own 4runners.
