? about painting rear emblems- Is there holes in the hatch?

I am wanting to paint my rear emblems from chrome to black but was wondering if there are holes and pins in these emblems or is it just a double sided tape?

The only rear emblem with pins is the oval Toyota symbol that is below the rear wiper. There are two pins. You can look for "shaving emblems" on Youtube to see the removal technique. I used dental floss in a back and forth saw motion to get them off. The above oval emblem came off that way too. The holes and pins don't hold the emblem. They just function as a locater.

Taking them off to paint is a PIA.
Look up Plasti-dip.
Much easier and works well

The 96-98 "4Runner" emblem on the license plate trim has holes as well. But you should just remove the emblems completely. I think it looks cleaner and Toyota to me has always been too emblem happy.

Good point I may just take them all off and keep the Toyota emblem but in black.
