About to buy tires??? 4th Gen

I am very close to getting new tires...but I'm having the toughest time deciding
(I did post earlier in the performance zone, but things changed slightly)

So I will try and make this short and to the point.
Looking for In order of priority: capable on/off road tire, tread life, and aggressive tread.

I have narrowed it down to 3 now...
-Goodyear Wrangler MT/R Kevlar 255/75/17
-BFG T/A KO 275/70/17 E load
-BFG MT T/A KM 255/75/17

So which of these do you guys think will last the longest?
How are the E load ko's?? Heard the kevlars are hard to balance??

Normally I'm a pretty decisive guy when it comes to decisions, but this has got me spinning....Thanks in advance

Price is not a factor?

One of the MT's if you wheel in the mud or wet, AT if you want tread life and keep it dry and MT if you want agressive looking tread.

I don't think I helped much.

I run GY AT/S and will replace them with the new GY - can't remember the name but it looks like an agressive AT tread. I'll look up the name and edit.

Dura Trac - looks cool (and I don't want a full MT).

in general, an MT wont last as long as an AT, an E load has slightly more tread, is a bit heavier, & has stiffer side walls, some dont like the fact that they ride rougher, more truck like, but ( i love mine tho )255s are narrower, a guy up the street from me says the tread on those GY dont last long, so long story short, id say get the duratrac, its an AT, some have complaints about the C load, but like the D or E LOAD better. but out of only the 3 u mentioned, if u off road alot, get the KMs, 1/2 & 1/2 get the KOs

You will definitely get the most tread life out of the BFG AT's. Even though there are a few people on here that will disagree with me I know multiple people that have gotten over 70-80K miles out of these tires. One was on a 2500 Cummins that pulled trailers way over weight capacity of the truck at least a few times a week. That same guy got about 65k out of a set of BFG MT, the original not the KM2's. BFG is the way to go either route you go, MT or AT, for mileage at least; this is just my 2 cents

Seems like I'm leaning more towards the bfg's everyday, specifically the M/T's...

65k is a lot out of some m/t, would love to get that much out of them!! And I'm looking
at the original km's anyways. Seems the way to go

Bleh ! Get the Terra Grapplers , its a better tire than the BFG's ! The newer Goodyears remind me of retreads .

I don't think the terra grapplers are meaty enough for his needs, from what I can gather.

You may want to look at the trail grappler mt's though. They look great and I have the Mud Grapplers and have about 20k+ on them and they will last at least another 20k. So I am assuming they will get at least 50k because they are definitely not as aggressive as the mud grapplers. I think they are what I am going for when I get 35's.

i have never gotten 65k out off any tire let alone an MT that was used offroad. imo, a tire looses alot of its ability after half the tread is gone,

I'd go with the KM2 out of those. If I had my pick based on your needs it would be the Duratracs.

Yea, he didn't use them offroad at all. But they were on a 2500 Cummins and they were 35s. The KM2's don't last as long as the BFG MTs from what I hear. I love the KM2s though, I would get them when I get new tires if they didn't cost $500 a tire! They are inno way worth that when I can get 35x12.50 trail grappler mt's for $350 a tire

Getting alot of miles from a BFG KO is a bit deceiving from my experiences since after about 50k (or even just 3-4 years later) of those miles the tread really hardens up lessening dry grip so that last 20k mile's perfromance is going to be noticeably subpar. I don't keep any tire on a vehicle longer than 6-7yrs at most anyway no matter how many miles. I got 45k from my Terra Grapplers and by the end there was still tread but it's useable performance was near the end and it was time for new ones. IMO it's a bad idea to run tires down to "bald" but many people do it.

thats a lot of good talk about bfg for a guy that doesnt run them hahaha jk im just bustin your balls. but yea just depends on amount of wheeling you do and if you want the aggressive look of mt's but def. go bfg. JMO

i plan on MT's when i buy new tires here in the next month cause i need all the traction i can get in my 2wd. whether i go steel radial mud kings or Bfg mt's its going to be a mt. haha

I believe the choice will be the BFG MT KM's. Hopefully soon, so I will get those pics of when it's done
