Hey all!!
So I'm about to pull the trigger on a lift..
Front Coil spring options: 885_Med_front_coils
Front top plate spacers: Add top plate spacers for full 3 inch lift (+ $59.00)
Rear Coil options: Toytec_Light_superflex_rear_coils
Rear shock options: 60020_(For_Toytec_superflex_rear_coils)
Model year: 2010_UP_4Runner_and_2010up_FJ
Add rear shock stone guards (Pair): Yes (+ $28.00)

and a set of 1.25 Spidertrax.

Still haven't figured out the Tires either Terra Grapplers or Bridgestone ATs, or....

Anyone have a better idea or am I missing anything?

Any input welcome..
Thanks all!!

I would suggest UCA's to improve your caster/camber alignment after the lift. If you buy the Spidertrax from the Spidertrax dealer they offer a 30 day return. I vote for the Terra Grapplers with the "P" rating, just my .002

I thought the top plate spacer was only necessary for older 4runners. I thought for 2010+ it wasn't necessary?
Also i would get the UCA's as well. I was going to get the OME lift but am gonna wait a bit and get the UCA's at the same time. Might as well do it right the first time....

I have am OME 3 Inch Lift

I went with the Stiff Front, Medium Rear. Have you slammed on the Brakes on your 4 Runner and seen what they do? Extreme front end Dive. The Stiff front Springs have been Perfect for me. I have had to Hit it Really Hard on the Brakes and the Dive is 100% Gone. The Ride is Firm but Very Good, I couldn't be Happier. Go Stiffer, I was told that buy my Tech and it was the right Move. If you want a pic let me know, or check out ,my recent thread (Finally, Gobi Roof Rack Installed) Check it out. OME is very Good.

STiff as in the heavy springs in the front??
Also did you go with the OME shocks as well or something else?
Yeah would definately like pics.
thanks

I got an email response from a technician at ARB in Washington about the concerns of having Heavy springs without and substantial load....

"The concern is not the longevity of the coils but the shocks and struts. With heavy coils and no weight the vehicle ends up lifted higher than the components were designed to tolerate. Among other things, the struts and shocks can become damaged as a result of repeated topping out as they run out of extension travel at higher speeds. My recommendation is to determine how much droop is left in the front suspension as this is typically the most critical area. The amount of suspension sag at the wheels between ride height and full droop should be no less than 2 ¼”."

So unless you are planning on adding a bumper and winch in the near future it might be better to go medium....just a thought.

I wonder if the stiffer rears would help with towing, plus I added a set of drawers, not real heavy, but you can tell it's there. Any help appreciated.

This is what I was thinking. There is a lot of engineering that goes into these setups, you cant simply use heavier rated spring because you 'like a firm ride' or 'need them for occasional towing'...... IMO i wouldn't try to "out think" the engineers, and think that higher load rated springs will improve nose dive, etc...

imo, I would save up to purchase coilovers like the Radflos from Overland Warehouse, or Icons. The difference between OMEs and coilovers is night and day, and it's only like $500 more.

I'm currently running OMEs on my 06 and it's OK once you remove your front sway bar, but I can't wait to upgrade to coilovers.

Good luck!

I go by feel of how it handles

I know how my Rig handled prior to the lift; and nose dive was a joke on the TE. Now it is gone and the handling is Excellent, no nose dive, cornering is nice as well. It handles the road way beter than stock so I am telling you through experience of how it feels. It isn't trying to out think an engineer, it is the experience behind the wheel that tells the story, period. Just like having your Motocross suspension revalved and a stiffer spring rate. You go break it in and turn some clickers and dial it in. Go by feel. Engineers give you a base to start from, then you take it from there. I spoke with ARB about everything before I pulled the trigger, you should too if you have any questions or concerns. My 4Runner TE now is set up how I want it. Road worthy and great for Hunting and reasonable 4 wheeling. OME is a good option. Even the light spring is 20% stiffer than stock.

Not necessarily about how it 'feels'. If it sits too high (not enough weight to compress the spring to its designed ride heigh) It will put your suspension travel outside of its optimal travel range. Runs higher potential to damage or prematurely wear out shocks, cv joints, etc...

Errr... the OME's ARE coilovers, are they not? The front suspension will be coilover regardless of which setup you choose. OME just sells you springs and shocks separately, as opposed to a pre-assembled coilover assembly...

How did removing the sway bar help handling???
