ABS Computer/Modulator & Master Cylinder

Hi everyone,
First this is a GREAT website. THANKS. I have joined after reading and seeing some similar problems. Bought my 2005 SR5 08/2010, $16,500, 73,000 miles, babied by another truck girl, immaculate. At 78,000 mi 2 weeks ago, after it failed to start and had to have a new battery, all the brake-related indicator lights came on. Found 40 amp ABS fuse blown, replacing it 3 times , it would instantly blow. My local garage & I decided it needed to go to the dealership. Diagnosis - Main ABS Computer shorted out. Replaced ABS Computer/Modulator/Master Cylinder Assemby - at a whopping $2303 for the whole unit, plus labor. I usually take a vehicle to at least 160,000 miles (got 184,000) on my 97 Explorer. It seems others are having this happen either inside the warranty (lucky you) or in the 70,000+- range. Has anybody picked a fight with Toyota over this master cylinder/ABS failure at such low mileage, and so expensive? Thanks for any feedback.
