abs issue!

my 01 got sandwiched in a careless act by some jagoff and now the abs is not engaging. no codes, so i don't know what the problem is.

How do you know it is not engaging?

because it stops like an old school car. now when i brake, it just locks them up. it didn't do that prior.

To lock the brakes you have to make a sudden stop. Do you drive like that all the time? I too have ABS and the only time I feel the abs is when I go over bumpy (corrugated) roads.
