ABS light coming on for no reason..

I've noticed lately when I get the 4runner washed, the ABS light comes on and won't go off for a while. It also sometimes comes on when I'm just driving down the road, mainly on dry pavement.

What could be causing this and what am I supposed to do? lol

Check your fluid level, the ABS light is designed to come on when the level of fluid is low

Mine was just doing this...the relay or switch in the driver wheel well attached to the frame had a crack in it causing same symptons your having. I cut the switch and spliced the wires and no more problems

Depending on how cold it is in Ohio, your wheel sensors could be iced up, too. Some of the trucks at work are really bad for this, as we park them in a warehouse. We'll take them out for a while, run them around, park them inside for a little while, and next time we take them out the ABS light comes on. Condensation builds up and freezes causing the ABS system to think there's a malfunction.
