ABS Light is on

Hey Guys my ABS Light is on and does not shut off a few months ago it was on and off from time to time. but now i think it is the pump that has failed. any ways to check what part is bad before i go replacing random parts? i drive my 4runner every day to work 40 miles to and back from work. and being that i live in California with a lot of dumb drivers i rather be safe than sorry.

mine came on and has stayed on also since I lifted my truck. since then braking and driving in general hasn't changed if anything it seems better to me.
