ABS Light Just Came On?

Started my 98 4Runner Limited Edition earlier and bam, for the first time my ABS brake light was on? I've never seen it come on before. I've not had to jam my brakes or anything, what could be causing this light to be coming on?

You cannot diagnose a light by posting on the web. Take it somewhere to have it scanned. Could be a sensor at one of the wheels or an abs pump or a few other things.

I have a 98 SR5 2wd, and my ABS light is on for last 4-5 months but never got a chance to take it to a dealer. But my brother just bought a 97 Infiniti QX4 and he read in one of the forums that the ABS has its own oil system that requires maintenance. If not checked the ABS light would come on. So i'm thinking i should get my oil Checked and changed if required. That may take care of the light. You should do the same and post back what happened. Good luck

The 4Runners don't have their own resevoir for the ABS pump like some of the Hondas and Nissans
