ABS light

I have a 2000 4runner. I was driving down the street yesterday and the battery light started flickering and then went away. A few minutes later the battery light came on and stayed on and then the ABS light came on. When that happened, the battery light went away and has not come back.

This is what I know. The battery is new and starts my truck up on the first crank so there is nothing wrong with the battery. I checked all the belts and they all seem to be fine as well. I checked the brake fluid and it is not completely full but well within where it should be and the brakes work fine. If I shut the truck off, and restart it, the ABS light is not on and doesn't come on until I drive it. Any ideas? Thank you.

I think to check the ABS symptom you need to use that DIAGNOSTIC box under the hood by the intake. But.... I just removed the bulb from the dash and never worried about ABS. Even cut out the wires in the back.
