AC/HEAT Issue

I have had ongoing issues with my AC system. My problem started with the clicking from under the dash, so I replaced the AC actuator. But the same thing happened with a different actuator. Then I noticed that the cable that comes from the heat control valve that attaches right next to the actuator was really hard to move. So I tried lubing that up and but it didn't make any difference. I have now put on a new cable hoping that the problem was that maybe the old one was just rusty but its the same thing. Its as if the motor doesn't have the power to pull the cable back and forth....but it seems really stiff. Is there a trick to installing that cable? I have put the new one in the same spot and everything went back in the same way but this one is just a stiff to move by hand as the old cable.*

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

it's got to be an actuator is bad. Mine beig a 97 nI don't think I have any electronic actuators, but you probably have one or two. One controlling air mix(temp), and possibly the recirc door. The third gen had that cable going out to the heater valve in the engine bay for sure. If yours has auto HVAC than you definitely have an electronic actuator somewhere that has failed and makes the dash clicking noise.

Make sure your heater control valve (attached to the firewall) can move. It operates a cable for coolant for both heat and AC. A sticking lever or cable usually can lead to the blend door actuator failing in Limiteds with the Auto Climate Control.
