AC override?

simple

Ok, so I've been having AC issues. The weather is starting to warm up a bit, and my AC is working flawlessly. I had it on 68, and I almost needed to bust out the sweatshirt. But when the temp outside is like in the low 60's or 50's, I'll almost be sweating with the ac set at 68. Its a little better with the setting on Auto. But the air, is warm, or like 'fan' only. But when the temps rise, the AC works f'in awesome. Is there a computer that regulates how low the AC can go based on outside temp? Frankly, when its on manual...I want it on manual. Is this similiar to any others' 4th gen experince?

IIRC, the system takes into consideration the outside air temp, inside air temp and "sun load". There is a sensor on the dash to measure how much the sun is warming the cabin. Sometimes I have noticed the system is slow to react to changing light conditions, for example when the sun is coming in from the side and not hitting the sun sensor. It takes a little longer for the system to acknowledge the cabin air temp which is measured at the small vent below the ignition. Some owners have found the inside air temp sensor dislodged inside the dash also causing the problem you described.

Yeah, that was one of the first things I checked, and its still attached. Are ther more than one? Like on the passenger side?

exact location of this sensor will helpwith pics if possible,

Wow,

Random. If I remember correctly, its mounted on the panel underneath the steering wheel that has the mini fuse box, gas door latch. Its on the side closest to the center. When you remove that panel, it should be stuck on the otherside. I think there's a few little slits or cuts for the sensor in the panel to give you a clue of where it is.

I think that one is a little black dome located on the dash above the steering wheel where it meets the windsheild.

But I think rook is talking about the one under the steering wheel for the dislodged sensor.
