AC recharge in 88 22re

Want to recharge my AC. Can I use the new style refridgerant R134? Where do I hook up the can to? Is there a certain PSI I should try to achieve? Or just dump in a small can with the motor running and AC on full blast?

No. Although you could have the system converted over to R134

To the lowside/suction port on the compressor, once the system is converted over.

Since any specs for the vehicle would be for the original R12 refrigerant, they wouldn't apply to the system with R134 in it. Also R134 runs at higher pressure than R12.

Know anything about Freeze 12? Supposed to be a direct R12 replacement and you can just dump it into the system on top of the existing R12.

Which port is the low side? There is a red and a black one on my compressor.

I had mine toped off with Freeze 12 and it blows coooooold

Did you do anything special? Dump the existing R12 first? How much did you fill? PSI? Which is the low port?

I had it done at ToyoDoc a local Toyota only shop that is local to me. They just added about a pound to the R-12 that was already in the system. the Freeze 12 is compatible with R-12 so no need to change out anything or evacuate the system. The system blows like a refrigerator now, that is a good thing here in Florida
