AC Smell

So I recently bought a 93 and the ac works great, but there's this really bad smell that comes from using it.

Is there anyway to clean my ac or something so I won't have that smell every time I turn on my ac.

Does it smell sweet, kinda like maple syrup.. just really really strong?

check to see if it has a in cab filter if it does change it .

You probably have stagnant water in the cowling so, the smell you have is mildew. You will need to clean out the cowling and by a product they sell at most auto parts stores for cleaning the vent A/C system. I can’t remember what it is called but, I’m sure someone at the parts store can help you.

Yeah its mildew. I cleaned out the evaporator as best as I could and so far its ok.
