AC-speed related problem

hello to all. to explain in detail, how i drive my runner determines how long my ac works for that given moment. i own a stock 97 runner sr5/auto/4wd.
if i drive/accelerate with light to medium pedal, everything is okay. no issue, other than people passing me by. if i accelerate with 3/4 or more pedal, ac will stop blowing cold air after 15-20 minutes of driving. condition will stay like that for a couple hours after turning the truck off. during the warm air session, there's no change in idle and the blower motor continues to run. only change i hear is the ac will not engage and disengage like it normally does when blowing cold air.
has anyone experience this?

Sounds like an actual AC compressor issue, but I know nothing of AC anyway lol.

My real reason for posting was to suggest checking your AC blower resistor. It's behind the glovebox. Mine was broken into a million pieces and it made my low setting not work entirely.

Just a thought, it's a common failure but I don't know if that's a symptom or not.

Could be the clutch in the compressor not kicking it on likes it's asupposta

thanks for the replies. ill check that resistor out. as for the clutch, during the warm air session, the clutch is actually engaged, i mean it appears to be. i had a friend cut the ac on and off to see whether the clutch was engaging. that was my first thought though. also Ive looked into the site glass and didn't see any bubbles which i read on here is a sign of low freon. it weird. how about this, i know there is a speed related switch that when accelerating quickly, disengages or stops the ac from blowing, but once speed has leveled out, it cuts back on. where is this switch located? that may be my problem.

Check the freon level first following the fsm guidelines, then work from there.
