Acceleration Hesitation at 3k rpms...

A couple weeks ago I noticed some minor hesitation in acceleration in my 96runner and saw a thread about changing your fuel filter...So I immediately changed mine out thinking that it was a likely possibility and is often forgotten as maintenance...It felt as though that solved the problem but then I took my runner to washington the begining of this week for a few days I noticed that problem again...It only occurs around 3k-3500 rpms which is about where I shift anyways and seemed to become more noticable on my way home...Any ideas as to where I should be looking or what I should be looking at?

air filter... or MAS could be dirty, id look there first. it could also be a o2 sensor starting to go bad, but unlikely as you would notice other issues as well. when was the last time you changed your plugs and or wires? my guess is either the air filter or your MAS or plugs and or wires, or a combo of them

Spark plugs, definitely. Seen this posted a lot and had it happen to myself. Changed the plugs with factory and fixed it right away.

When I bought it a few months back the guy I bought it from had it at the mechanics where I picked it up and it was supposed to have been serviced and everything checked...I looked at the air filter and it wasnt that bad but I will check everything over again...I hope its something fairly simple and inexpensive to fix....thanks if anything else comes to mind hit me up
