Acceleration Problem

When I take off from a complete stop, I can have my foot to the floor on the gas and the truck seems like it wants to move as if I'm only touching it, takes off slow. Sometimes it takes off on a dime like something is not engaging properly. Same issue while driving, When I am driving and then give it gas to accelerate, the RPMs will shoot up to 3000 but it takes a second for it to repond and kick to high gear to get up to speed.

I had the dealer take a look at it and they replaced the TPS sensor and its still doing the same thing. So I took it back and they told me it could be the EGR valve, which they wanted to charge me over 600 to do the work. I brought it home tore it apart, cleaned it out and ran a little better. So last night I was digging more into it and found the Air flow meter on top of the air filter box which I completely took apart from the intake to the front and cleaned it all out with carb cleaner. I took it for a drive and it was quite responsive after that. I drove to work this morning and still not kicking in as it should be. Im thinking it might be the Air flow meter that needs to get replaced.

Any other suggestions? Im at my witts end here with spending cash on this thing. Please help!!

What year? What engine? Is the transmission serviced with fresh fluid and to the correct level?

92 4runner, fluid is full and fresh....not a trans problem guaranteed. im pretty sure its the MAF sensor. I was just told today to spray CNC contact cleaner on the plug and the other end and see what it does but he said that might cause more problems.

I remember reading somewhere that MAF's were not introduced until the 3rd Gen 4runners (96' - 02')

I know ive read my manual numerous times and I cant find anything that mentions a MAF sensor in my 94 4runner.

:D
