Acceleration problems? :(

Alright guys, I need some help. I have been having a problem, under heavy acceleration I get a sputter from my rig, feels like a misfire, I hve a lack of power when sputtering is going on, and when I let off a little I get full power back. Happens in any gear, including off the line. And when going up hills when it shifts into 3rd it's real bad. Not sure what it could be. I do not have a cel on, and I changed my plugs and wires 20k miles ago, and because of sputter I used a set from my brothers taco to see if that was the problem but no luck. Info, I have a 96 runner with 3.4, 226k miles, oil changed every 4-6k miles, air filter changed when dirty. Mods, elbo mod (sharp turn before air box cut out) magnaflow 14inch muff with turn down pipe 10inches after cat. Any ideas on where I should start? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You'll need a fuel pressure tester or a gauge with a special attachment then there's a tap in the engine bay to connect it to. And if it's not in spec replace the pump

When was the last time you cleaned the MAFS or replaced the fuel filter?

I will look for the proper gauge when I get back to town. And I purchased the rig two years ago and it had 205k miles on it. So not sure how the previous maintinance looks. Although when I purchased it the rig the plugs and wires had never been changed.

Replace the fuel filter, and clean the the MAFS and the IACV, run a can of sea foam through your intake and see what that does... But I'm gonna bet its the fuel filter. What kinda milage are you getting with it?

Nothing. Just not likely to help his problem. Sounds like fuel starvation.

Fuel milage isn't bad, getting around 17-19mph, I have a 3 inch lift and 32s. But I have a used (in good condition) pump and filter at my house from my brothers taco
