Accelerator problem, 95 4runner

I have a 3 liter V6 4runner that will stall when the accelerator is pressed too lightly but once the vehicle gets going down the road, if I take my foot off the accelerator and then put my foot back on the accelerator, then the RPMs drop down by about 1,000-1200 RPM for a fraction of a second. Simultaneously, the check engine light along with the automatic transmission temperature light comes on for about the same fraction of a second.

Before today the vehicle was having intermittent trouble with starting and would have a rough idle before tapping the accelerator. To address That problem, I tried to clean the MAF sensor. I also replaced the air filter and put a new negative battery cable in today. It starts great now and the idle is also in great shape..

I'm beside myself. Perhaps I hurt the MAF sensor in some way? Do these symptoms make sense to anyone? I'm out of ideas.

Would cleaning the MAF sensor knock it out of calibration?? Also, do you know a procedure to calibrate it? I have never had to do that..

there is a link to 4crawler in my signature he has all the walkthroughs on how to do it. and i said TPS not MAF.
but if you "cleaned it" and are now having issues i would say you did it wrong and would need to test it to make sure you didnt ruin it again the link will help. if so buy a remaned one and replace it.

You might do the following:
1) check fuel pressures(rest and running)
2) clean throttle body
3) change out fuel filter
4) check for vac leaks
5) test egr valve
