Access Ladder

I have a Yakima Load Warrior roof rack to access from the rear and I would like to install a ladder on the back of my 2016. Does anyone have any advice or experience to share on brand or type.

I have a Gobi ladder, probably the most popular ladders for 5th gen 4runners. To be honest I just use my rock sliders or stand on rear tire to access things on roof rack, the Gobi ladder is used to look cool and have my Rotopax fuel can mounted onto when weekenderlanding. There are also a few other ladders out there. Baja, Victory 4x4, C4, etc

How big are you?

If the answer is over two bills and change, then I'd strongly advise against it.

Use the side steps and rear wheels.

No need for a ladder.

I have the C4 ladder on my 4Runner. I got it 100% for aesthetic reasons and have really only "used" it to help dry off the car after a wash. My only complaints (not specific to this ladder) are that it's relatively close to the face of the hatch and doesn't leave much room for your foot to physically fit, and it does limit the width of things you can hang out the back window.

I love the way it looks - it matches my roof rack perfectly - however it's much easier to actually reach the rack from the side. I typically stand on the tire or the sliders to get up to the rack. If you're looking to actually climb onto the rack and stand up there it would be useful in that scenario.

As mentioned, I don't think I would trust it or any hatch ladder if I were a heavier individual...

I am not, but the consensus seems to be to use something other than a ladder, so I think I am going to give that a go. Thanks for the reply!

I'm 6'1 at 205lbs and the Gobi ladder sucks. I only use it for mounting my Rotopax, that's it.

Look at the new Victory 4x4 ladder, it's sweet.
