Accident - Got hit last week.

Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. My '03 4Runner was hit in the rain last week. It was a slow moving deal and no one was hurt.

But the the car is in he shop for a new rear bumper and some other minor fixes.

His insurance is paying for everything and they did give me a decent rental: an '04 325i with 400 miles on it.

Oh man! That sucks! Well, at least they're paying for the damage.

I got scratches on the front of my car from a cement truck hitting a pothole going 70mph on the freeway. All the debree came flying off. Also, a muddy, wet dog jumped inside my car, trying to dry itself on my sparkling new interior. Both of this happened the day after I bought my car.

Do you have the grey cladding? I notice it is an '03. If you do, is the dealer/bodyshop having difficulty finding the replacement grey cladding?

Nope, its a Limited - though it would have been nice if I did have the gray cladding to have it come back body colored.

p.s. A nice feature that the 325i has that I wish our 4runners had: Auto Up/Down power windows for ALL windows.

The GX470's body cladding comes prepainted from the factory, so you may have hope :)

sucks to hear about the accident. i see you're from LA, people around LA do not know how to drive in the rain.

hope your runner looks like new again soon.

That's too bad... but at least it will be good as new. I was rearended in my '00 and I think my rental car was a Corolla. You got lucky with a BMW!

Correction. People in LA don't know how to drive at all.

I hate to hear that. I was hit about 2 months ago and it does suck. Glad no one was hurt, that's the most important thing.

You did get a good rental. Mine sucked. If you get a chance, post some pictures.

Hate to hear that..I too was hit at a center turning lane..she just barely bumped us is the front end and damaged the bumper cover

..I have the grey cladding ,the dealer had to order it but they did find it.The lady's insurance paid for it all and took less than a day for them to get it put on..plus he buffed out a big scratch on the R front fender for nuthin.:D

Any idea what they used to buff it out? There have been a few questions on the forum about how to buff out scratches on the cladding.

I have the same kind of luck I swear, it seems everything bad happens right after I get a new vehicle, but nothing happens after its old and you stop caring so much about it!
