I just bought a Certified 06 SR5 6cyl a couple of weeks ago, and during delivery of the vehicle I noticed that the windows were spotty (after the dealer detailed the 4R). The spots turned out to be acid etching, but it was limited to two rear windows and not on the paint or other windows.
Toyota states in their 160 point inspection for certified used vehicles that the glass shall be clear and free of streaks..... Acid etching seems to be the exact opposite of that. I bought the vehicle after seeing the acid etching (even though they were hidden until delivery under the "they're just dirty defense"), but would certifying that vehicle be against Toyota's cert inspection?
Should a used Toyota with acid etched windows be able to carry the certified badge the company boasts about? (the windows look they have water spots all over them, and very noticeable in some light.)
