Acquired another handgun!

So the gun show came around this past weekend in Virginia Beach, so I decided to head back home from Blacksburg to look at guns. I came across a gorgeous Glock 21 SF that was selling for $550. I haggled the price down to $500 brand new and bought it on the spot. I also bought 1K of .45 auto bullets as well as one 50 rounds of hollow point fed ammunition. Here are two pictures of my gorgeous glock

I made a thread a long time ago regarding holsters in a 4Runner. I was going to bump the thread, but late posts in that thread are filled with arguments so I didn't really want to bump the thread only to revive the argument. Has anyone figured out the best way to holster a gun in the 4R yet? Did anyone at least install one in the 4R yet? I've seen holsters installed under the steering wheel in a GMC, but that's about it. I'm hoping someone took on a holster project! If not then I guess I will do intense research so I could do the project myself & make a thread for anyone else that's interested in seeing the results.

Nice gun! I picked up a sprinfield xd sub com 40 about a month ago. i was there on my harley! I go to almost everyone of them around hampton roads!

But there is this holster that goes under steering column it is nice ill have to see if i can find it online. But i have a serpa holster paddle and i put it next to my leg clipped on the door pocket thing. It works ok there and has came in handy right there once when a guy thought about beating on my window wanting to fight me b/c road rage
 
WOW just like my 4Gen 4runner!! These two things are IDENTICAL and should not be categorized as two separate and apart things.:moping:
 
This is what I did about a week ago. I took apart the center console and mounted the holster to the inside of it. It was previously mounted on the passenger side of the console near the glove box. I like this better because it is out of view of prying eyes. But I still take it inside my house or lock it in the glove box if I'm away from my runner for an extended amount of time. Its a Blackhawk paddle holster sans the paddle btw...

Yeah, I came across a picture of a holster in a GMC truck. Apparently it was being shared among gun-loving friends on FB and it just happened to pop up on my newsfeed. I loved the holster, but couldn't investigate further to find out its brand. I was thinking of hiding it inside the center compartment, but I just don't know. I still have plans to install a gun locker and bolt it to the floor inside the 4R and store my gun there when I'm shopping in a store that doesn't allow CC. Too bad this thread was moved into the off topic section, my old thread wasn't moved and I had a lot of insightful comments until things started to get sour in the end. Probably of crybabies like this dude that felt like being sarcastic

Well lets see here...lets use common sense. In the picture shown above, there are 20 boxes with 18 of them stacked. If you carefully read the text on the boxes, you will clearly see "50 center fire pistol cartridges" so assuming you're not an idiot that's still in middle school, you can easily do the math yourself. Here, I'll help you. 20 boxes of 50 .45 auto bullets is how many bullets altogether? 1,000 or in shorter words, 1K! Still can't come to that conclusion? Count the boxes individually, then do the math yourself. Reading the word "1K" does not necessarily mean I'm talking about $. It depends on how it is used in a sentence. I paid $300 for the bullets & $15 for federal hollow point bullets.

Back to the OP, love the Glock. I just picked up a new G19 Gen 4 a couple weeks ago and love it.:guitar2:

as for holsters, heres mine. granted i now have a IWB holster and love it (Theisholsters.com | Home | Custom IWB Holsters) so it doesnt really leave that holster often, but i still use this on occasion.

If I ever pull you ever don't be surprised if I ask you to walk to the back of your car while we talk lol. I really like the placement of that, clean install too. Nice work.

haha cant say it hasnt happened. thats why hands stay on the steering wheel until the officer is notified. but, like i said, now that i have an iwb holster, it rarely goes in there. usually when im off "roading" (2wd, nothing crazy, and it usually is to go out in the middle of no where desert, which i call the range, and unload a few rounds)
 
My question to you Trevloc is that does that holster (empty) bring attention to your car? Does a robber see it and assume that you have other guns in your car and thus worth robbing? (Or does he get scared and rob another car instead?) Or does he see it (and already decided to rob you and your car) and get prepare that you have conceal carry?

It is kinda like having NRA sticker on your car...is it a good thing or bad thing?

I am undecided. For me, i always have my gun around, but it is concealed in IWB holster and no NRA sticker nor do i wear NRA (or Sig Sauer) baseball caps. Just want to hear your (and other people's) thoughts.
 
Good question. Personally, I go with 'discretion is the better part of valor'.

I think a lot depends on the disposition and IQ of the robber...
 
well thai...

i never really have thought about that. but in order for you to see it you have to kinda smoosh your face against the glass. the beauty of tint. and due to the alarm i had installed, my 4runner makes a warning sound if touched when armed. hopefully thats enough to make them move on. Usually theres 10 more crappy cars, easier to steal from around me when im in a bad area. but living in southern AZ, i always assume everyone has a firearm. legal or not, you have to be on your toes constantly.

as for stickers... i used to have a "black weapons armory" sticker on, supporting the local gun shop here, but i actually just removed it a few days ago.

definitely food for thought though.
 
Well, i have no idea what is correct. It is kinda like the argument b/w open vs. conceal carry. I favor conceal carry (for surprise element), but i see the other side too (prevention of crime).
