How have you been notified of your recall ?

Specifically the newer recall with the gas pedal / mat ....

Are recall letters already being shipped out ?

TIA

My truck started showing as having a possible recall on Club Toyota last Thursday so I guess the letter can't be long. I think some have already had the work done.

you don't need the letter, call the dealership to make an appointment. They can check computer with your vin #.

already had my chopped by toyota. ****ty job, took 3 hours, dealerships can go kick rocks. ill buy used anyday after my last experiance there.

You could always visit or contact your dealer for the latest list of recalls. you should contact them immediately and it is important not to render any problems with your car.

It's my business wheather I want this recall repaired or not. It will not go well if I go for oil change and dealer cuts my pedal short without askin first.

We're not supposed to without the customer knowing. Just make sure you authorize anything before they do the work.

The dealership will make you sign a waiver for not having it done. I did the ECM update myself and kept my pedal the way it was. I have gotten 4-5 notices so far tho.

I never got mine cut and do not intend to. I get notices all the time from Toyota. My freind got his cut and it does not feel right to me, my foot sometimes slips off the end of the gas pedal the way I drive. Mine has gone uncut for 9 years and I intend to go 9 more years the way it is.

I received my first written recall notice by mail from Toyota Canada in March 2011. They have followed up with a second letter in June 2012.

When I have brought my T4R in to the dealership for routine service (oil/filter) the service advisor asks me if I want the "safety improvement" on my pedal.

As it is voluntary, I have decided to decline. The notification will stay on the vehicle (and in Toyota's computers) until it is corrected - thus if/when I sell or trade in my T4R the next owner can decide whether or not to have the "improvement" done.

When I received the first notice I asked my Service Advisor about it and he said I don't want it. Never thought about it again. I just recevied another notice last month. This time they said they would also replace my front factory all weather mats but I have heard bad things about those also.
