Acura ILX.... very interesting

For me, i am very interested in the TSX SportWagon with Tech pkg. But, i am also waiting to see how much the upcoming RDX will cost.

I waas excited about the TSX Wagon when it first came out. But, once I saw it at the auto show I was very disappointed. It only came with a 4 cyl auto tranny and no 4WD or AWD. Now, that may have changed since it was first released, but if you have a Sport Wagon I think it needs at least those 3 things as options. Plus it was very pricey for what you got, or should I say didn't get.

In my opinion, the RDX has basically become a glam version of the CRV (which has also made great strides to appeal to the upper class) The inclusion of new technology that it now offers as well as additional/functional space has really transformed that model a lot from the first generation. For me, if I was cross-shopping the RDX and CRV, I'd go with the CRV hands down on price alone. The rest of the options really wouldn't sway my opinion enough to pay the bigger price tag. Then again, I came from a CRV and had great experience with that car, so I am a little biased.

The ILX is a good looking car, but (as you mentioned) it is basically a Civic with Acura badges and a little more flash, fit and finish. I am surprised at the name though. They basically have the same thing in Canada called the CSX. I would imagine that has done well in that market and thus the talk of bringing it south of the border. I'm interested to see what this looks like once it is actually offered (engine size, options and price)

The TSX appealed to me because it is practical, relatively cheap, AND has an amazing sound system (very important to me). However, i found out the other day that the TSX is off my list for future cars. I setup my wife's HandsFree system in the TSX...and wow, it sucks so bad! Now, i know why we never used it when she first got it...absolutely useless!!!!! Tons of noise and breaking up on the other end. My Prius (and Sienna's) BT phone is so much better! And for me, BT is very important because i take phone calls all the time in my car. Bad BT = no car for me.

The problem with CRV is that, at this time in my life, i need the little things. CRV does not offer HomeLink (i need and use all three buttons on all my cars), good headlights (preferably HIDs or LEDs), and possibly memory seating (not a biggie). Hey, i use to own a CRV too...loved it. But, Acura is relatively cheap (except for the ZDX, what a horrible idea!) to own and maintain (at least where i go)...and they have probably the top 3 best audio system in their cars (ELS). With the CRV, i would have to go aftermarket...and i hate doing that!
