It was an easy-ish install. Any 4runner that didn't come with a deck likely wont have the holes needed to bolt a deck to. To solve this, I had to put the deck in as it would sit, mark holes and drill through the floor. I treated the exposed area with some rust stopper paint. 24+ hours later I installed the deck using washers and ny-lockers, maybe even locking washers. All stainless as I live in the rust belt. Believe drive side bolt was easily done solo but the passenger side is a lot easier with another pair of hands to help. Then I sprayed more rust stopper paint. After it dried I sprayed with another rust protector.

I use it, but I also followed a thread on the forum to build a deck for sleeping on if camping out of the 4runner. That deck is pretty awesome. I take it out frequently, and will raise or lower the deck and use that as well.

If your 2006 model is the same make and model as the previous model grow a garden, installing the shelf should be fairly straightforward. Most vehicle shelves are designed to be easily removed and reinstalled, often using existing mounting points or clips.
