Addicted rear bumper issues

So I finally received my Addicted rear bumper after waiting 10 weeks (ordered Feb 13 arrived April 21) and a bit disappointed in it. The drivers side is touching the body which in addition to rubbing a notch it makes the truck sound like something is loose. Does anyone know a remedy for this? I'm not a body man and really don't know where to start. The other issue, albeit small, is the receiver hitch hole is too small. I really wasn't expecting this either. The fix is easy but rather annoying after spending $800. Other than that, I like the way it looks and it's solid..Any suggestions on the rubbing would be much appreciated.

My buddy runs the same bumper and we didnt run into those issues. Maybe an email to AOR.

Either bend the rubbing pinch weld out of the way or cut it. Pretty simple fix.

Could be one of your body mounts is bad, so that side is sitting a little low. Hard to tell without seeing it in person.

As for the hole fitment, was the bumper powder coated? If so, that's the issue. Goes on thick. I've had to drill everything I've ever had coated.

Thanks for all the replies! As far as modifying the pinch weld to accommodate the bumper, I'd rather not. That seems like a band aid fix but if that becomes the only option I'll do it. I'll check the body mounts, that seems like a logical explanation. The bumper was painted, not powder coated.

I have not contacted Scotty yet but I am working on the email now. I just wanted to see if anyone else on here had similar experiences.

It's not that difficult, time consuming, nor does it really hurt the body. You wont see it.

I've had my front and rear bumpers sandblasted and powdercoated. I have not run into bolt hole sizes being too small. ( I have AOR front bumper )

Solid Body Mounts

The issue with the rear bumpers, is that the factory bumper mounts to the body. Aftermarket bumpers mount to the frame, and the rear body mounts are wobbly plastic. So, when the body moves around and the frame doesn't, the frame mounted bumper hits. The front doesn't do that, because the mounts are more solid. Yours are probably shot if you haven't messed with them at all. Read Steve's explanation in the link.

Agreed on the cuts. In order to fit my sliders when I built them, I bent the entire pinch weld along the entire rocker up with a BFH. Very pleased with it. Sliders are tucked up nicely.

As for powder coat,

They may have taped the holes or simply over drilled to allow for adjustment. Powder coat will fill enough to do exactly what the OP showed on his hitch. In his case it's a different issue.

A decent powdercoater will plug holes like this to prevent powder from accumulating in them prior to going into the oven. Not all of them do, however.

I think regardless if the bumper was painted or powder coated the hole was likely a tight fit to begin with. The coating was just enough to not allow the pin to go in smoothly. This is something I would bring up to AOR. It's not a HUGE deal but they need to look into making the hole slightly bigger to allow for fitment after coating.

In the mean time, you can always take a dremel or drill bit (if room for a drill) and make the hole larger. Then mask off the area and repaint.

So the Sonoran poly mounts came today, getting ready to install. They definitely look like they'll get the job done! Also, took a step bit and spent less than 2 minutes making the hitch hole the correct size. Thanks again!
