Adding 1" lift to FJ TRP Pro Bilstein coilovers

Hey all,

Need some assistance on this one so thought I'd come to the experts.

I have a TRD Pro Bilstein front/rear setup that I'd like to get another inch out of.

Would this Toytec spacer work? I believe I've seen people say they ran it on the coilovers, but the Toytect item number has changed so I wasn't able to confirm off old messages. I also reached out to Toytec, but thought someone here might already know.

I got these springs so add the extra lift in the rear: Dobinsons Rear Coil Springs for Toyota 4Runner and FJ Cruiser(C59-599) – Dobinsons Direct

Anyone see any problems or recommendations with this setup? I did get some small spacers for the KDSS lean.

Another question involves the mounting of the reservoirs with KDSS, I saw some discussions around some modifications that needed to be done to mount the resi's on KDSS vehicles. These referenced pictures that are no longer available, so I was hoping someone could let me know what, if anything, needed to be done there. It didn't seem complicated, I just can't see the images anymore.

Hey K9, I took a look there but didn't see anything that would fit the FJ coilovers, saw one for tundra, 4runner and Tacoma. Is this what you were referring to? Are these confirmed to work on the FJs?

Are the shocks the 6112 Bilstein? I have a 2014 FJC TTUE and they have them to fit those shocks (front)

If you have the FJ cruiser version, then you already have a 14" springs. You'll need a taller spring to avoid adding preload. If you have the 4runner specific version which utilizes a 13" spring, then getting a standard 14" spring will give you a legitimate lift.

I won't run the toytec spacer but it should work for your application.

I do have the FJ Cruiser version. That's what went wrong when I ordered the Dobinson coil for the front coilover before I knew about the spring length, I believe that is just another 14" spring so it wouldn't provide the lift.

When you say you won't run the Toytec spacer, what does that mean? Is there a specific reason you wouldn't run it?

I want to make sure I'm putting on a decent setup and not something that's going to cause issues in the future.

I want to make sure I'm putting on a decent setup and not something that's going to cause issues in the future.

I previously had the ToyTec spacer on the 4Runner TRD Pro Bilsteins, and had no problems with it. It's really only a half inch spacer (1inch total, but only half inch thicker than the stock spring seat that you replace giving ~1inch lift at the wheels) I would've left it, but had the opportunity to swap with the FJ TTUE taller springs. Like perf0mance mentioned, the ToyTec spacer should work on the TRD FJ shocks, too. I still have the spacers if you're interested. Let me know
