Is there really any use to keep it in the truck if it's somewhere you can't get to easily?

Certainly, I'll have my concealed carry for any immediate threat and then the long gun for any thing more than that. I'd rather have an AR or a shotgun with me than just a pistol, you never know. Also for traveling reasons. I always carry a long gun with me when I'm more than 2 hours away from home. I'm just in the mind set of "if you're not always prepared, you're never prepared".
