Adding badging, 3M tape??

I ordered some "V8" badges (for a 2005 Land Cruiser) and want to put them on the lift gate, underneath "4Runner". I also got a VVT-I badge as well.

They came with 3M double-sided tape already attached to their backs. Im wondering if emblems typically are adhered with said 3M tape? Or maybe something more of a bonding nature? Im hesitant to use this 3M tape deal.

Really not in the mood for other's opinions on badging itself, thanks.

Just like i could give a crap about lifts, spacers, huge tires and upgraded suspensions, i have my own likes and dislikes.

I think you are going to be fine using the 3M adhesive that came with the badges. 3M provides many if not most of the adhesives used in the auto industry.

You'll want to clean the area where the badges are to be positioned well , being sure there is no wax left behind. Get them positioned just right from the get go because your ability to reposition them after adhesion will be quite limited.

Any badge I have removed on any vehicle is held on with a 3M type adhesive foam tape.

I've replaced a few badges on previous vehicles of mine, they have all had the 3M tape, you should be fine.

+1 I replaced a silverado badge on my old truck and it's held tight with 3M for years

I used 3M badging...the dealer just gave me a foot.

OK, thanks again, guys.

Too bad i just waxed both of my 4runners with Turtle Wax ICE just a week ago. Looks like im going to have to hold off on this a while.

i did the same thing put a land cruiser v8 emblem on my runner about 3yrs ago in the middle of a snowstorm just cleaned the area and stuck it on....hasnt moved one bit.....:banana::banana::guitar3::guitar3::thumb3::thumb3:
