Adding Leather Seats

Well, I guess you get what you pay for. Not looking good based on the ebay feedback.

I've also got a local shop that does leather for Toyota and he priced the kits at $650 + install. He had a few overstocks kits awhile back but already sold them.

I guess the search is back on again for leather.

Sadly this is the case... Note that all of his eBay transaction are "private" so you can't see what people bought. First warning sign... Second warning sign... he will start/request to correspond with you with a Chinese/Hong Hong email address... Once a day, short curt broken English emails (around a 15 minute window... 10-11:00 AM eastern time). Third warning sign... he will suggest that you purchase items direct, not using eBay. Fourth warning sign, when (if) they arrive they are shipped direct from mainland China.... Open the package and he converts "Toyota Fawn" into "Bright Orange"...

Then he refuses refunds and tries to tell me that I don't know what color Toyota uses on there cars and trucks... And then communication completely stops.

PayPal saved my backside on this one.

The good news is that the covers are real leather, though some of the feedback is that they have a silicon coating (which makes a re-dye all but impossible)

If I was looking for dark grey, black, or if color match isn't important, then sure, they are a low cost option to get leather seats. if you are looking for a factory color match, this vendor is NOT an option.

Oh an while we are on it, these covers have the side SIR "straps" but lack the factory "tags" if thats important to you...

Katskin is spendy. $1303 with the options I want - although $300 of it was for seat heaters that I don't have to have. $700-$800 might be my limit on leather. Any other options?

Look into CST (classic soft trim). They have huge selection and are very customizable.. I have had there leather for about 6 years and they show little wear.

Installed the Clazzio covers two weeks ago, and couldn't be happier. I got a black set for my 03 Sport with charcoal cloth and it looks downright sexy. Just looking inside my car makes me drool.

Clazzio's customer service is great too. I got mine from TRDSparks and was shipped a defective rear armrest cover. Within four days I got a new one, shipped directly from Japan. Couldn't be happier for the $390 I paid.

Careful with this vendor, the colors he ships aren't even close to factory colors and he has no clue what he is doing, his company is a fraud and is not based in Texas, but is a Chinese company. Communication in English is painful.. BRUTAL ebay experience. You have a 15 minute window once a day to get one question answered. Takes weeks to explain a problem or try and resolve it...

If you are hoping for a color match, you will be disappointed and they will be returned.

UR7X - Thanks for the heads up. The search continues. I think Im going to stay away from the clarizzo leather because I believe they go over your exsisting cloth.

+1 on Clazzio covers!!! I have Clazzio covers on my other vehicle and I love them to death. Mine were all PVC (I was on a tight budget and they were a bit cheaper then the leather option) but I swear they looked like they came factory. I just wish Clazzio had seat covers for the 3rd gen 4runners :sobbing: , then I'd buy a set for my truck in a heartbeat.
