Adding Sirius/XM to OEM Nav system

Hello, newbie to T4R here ....anyway, I have an 06 with factory Nav and I want to add sattellite radio. anyone out there done this? ...Not a fan of FM modulators. I see a SAT button on the head unit , ...must be some option right? any idears?

:awais: I just finished adding the Sirius Radio unit to my wifes new 064Runner, it has the JBL 10 speaker unit, the parts can be purchased at your local Toyota Dealer, the install is easy, the antenna you get with the Sirius unit is made for the inside of the car install near the rearview mirror it is a big ole ugly thing, I purchased a smaller Sirius antenna from Best Buy and just installed it on the dash near the center speaker. I can send you pictures if needed, just PM me here.

The reciver and mounting kit cost around $350.00 from the Toyota Dealer, plus another $39.00 from Best Buy from a smaller antenna.

awesome pictures, you probably don't have a picture of the plug itself that plugs into the head unit? Can you now use your head unit to control the Sirius recv'r? If you don't have a unique picture, which plug is it in your first picture? Thanks

does the stearing wheel controls work for the sat stations? does the display scroll the band/song? i have an 06 sr5 w/o the jbl-is that a requirement?

Controls

Yes the controls on the left side of the wheel that control the radio volume and mode also control the same things on the Sirius radio, it also shows the PTY info by pushing the index button on the radio face plate.

I just got my new 4 Runner this weekend and am going to be getting th Sirius radio installed in the near future. I have a Sportster version in another car and the car I traded in had a built in Sirius unit in it. I love it and need it in New Orleans (our radio stations stink).

Was wondering what the Nav screen displays. How much of the chanel info does it show? The Sportster will show the channel name (First Wave, ESPN, etc) and the song title. Does the Nav show both at the same time or is it only a single line? Also, with the NFL games does it show the scores? Can you "sort" though channels by categories (traffic/weather, sports, current hits, rap, etc)?

I tried to find info about the uits from Toyota but haven't been able to find anything yet.

The reception with the small antenna is great, I have it mounted on the dash, But will be reinstalling it to the rear of the roof in the future, only because the wife dosent like it located on the dash.

What is the part number for the Sirius equipment? One poster sent me the installation instructons that it looks like Gussdog followed, and the part number on that says PTS31-33051, but it appears that is just the "fit kit" which I can only assume is the bracket, wiring, etc needed for the install.

If anyone can provide me with the part number for the actual equipment, I would appreciate it!
