Adding top spacer to radflo coilovers

You may find that 400# spring unable to support the weight and will be fully compressed. If that occurs you have now lost the ride height support you were trying to originally obtain.

True, but dont I want it to compress fully rather early in the stroke to allow the main spring do its job over the larger bumps and keep it soft over the small stuff? I just feel the 650 might be too stiff, as it doesnt really absorb the bumps that great now. But I agree 400lbs may be way too soft, I was more trying to illustrate what Im thinking. Maybe a 550lb spring or 600lb would be better for the secondary coil with a 700lb main spring.

Update: I called radflo and basically came to the conclusion that a dual spring setup is not worth it. With a small amount of travel, it would just be better to go with a stiffer spring. After much searching, I finally found a place that has 14'' 700lb in 2.5'' called PAC racing. So I think Im just gonna go that route as its cheaper and should work better. Heres a link to PAC's website in case anyone else wants it. 14 inches tall - PAC Racing Springs

Not familiar with PAC. Did radflo not offer any other options?

They didnt really have any other ideas, they said the best thing to do would be upgrade to the 2.5 radflos, but I dont have the cash to buy coilovers twice in 4 months. And since I found a place with the right springs, we concluded it would be the best bet.

I don't see why you couldn't add an aluminum top spacer onto the top of the C/O top mount plate, add longer bolts and reinstall.

The spacer just need a hole in the middle for the upper rod end of the shock to poke through.

Seems doable for alot less hassle.

I thought so too, but after some thinking, I realized that it would give me extra droop from my suspension. I fear I would blow my upper ball joints as I have stock arms. I also think that it would just hide the real problem of the springs not being able to support the weight and would continue to ride weird.

What did you end up doing to address your issues? Did you upgrade your 2.0 to 700lb springs? How does it ride now?

I'm looking to soften up my 2.0s as well still.

What did you end up doing? I am thinking about doing the same thing. I had got the 2.0 650 radflo c/o and want more lift out of it and was looking at spacers. did that 14in spring work out to your liking?

I have the 2.5" Icons coilovers but I can say with the 14" 700lb king springs the ride is just fine, at least matches well to the metaltech HD rear 3" springs. They are currently set at 3.25-3.5" of lift as the front is pretty much level with the rear 3" springs and only have 1" of thread showing.

It seems no company makes a 700lb 14" spring for a 2.0 coilover. I ended up using a 12" spring at 700lb and that was fine. Just had to spin the collar down the shock an extra two inches. The only real problem with that was the travel of the spring, was about equal to the travel of the shock, so with a lot of preload, the coil would compress more than the shock and cause the coil to bind.
