Additional connector in center console?

I just replaced the stock head unit in my 2004 4Runner with a Scion unit. While dismantling the trim on the center console/transmission tunnel I noticed another (white) connector just lying there. Is it possible that this is an aux audio connector? It looks an awful lot like the connectors on the back of the head unit. If it is an aux connector, does anyone have a wiring diagram or pinout for it? Thanks!

Chiraz,

the white connector belongs to the cigarette lighter - do a search under cigarette lighter mod and you'll know what I'm talking about.

It's for people who a) smoke or b) like to have two power outlets up front. It looks nice, given that the cig lighter has a lit up ring surrounding it at nite.

So just to clarify: Under the trim piece are three connectors (in my case) one for the 12V power outlet, one for the hill decent control and another, unconnected, 12V power connector for the cig lighter. Is this correct?

You got it Chiraz - the unconnected wiring goes to the cig lighter. Toyota likes to standardize its cars it seems.

Now, does anyone know the pinout of the connector? I saw pictures of the cigarette lighter mod and would love to install another 12V outlet in the console.

I decided to check the price of that toyota ashtray - $280 canadian! Ouch - not going to happen just to have 1 more 12V. I might have to ebay that part.

I opened up the console again and took a second look at this connector. It has 4 or 5 wires running to it - doesn't that seems strange for a 12V power connection? The 12V power connector right next to it only has two (+12V and GND I assume). If it isn't a power connector, what is it likely to be?

note that the connector also lights up the ring around the cig lite at nite...could explain the additional wires...

That price sounds wrong. I think that I paid less than $60 US dollars for mine.

It was a little high for me but I wanted something really clean.

Yes that price is absurd! I asked him how the same part in the US could be so far out of "purchasing price parity" (throwing a little bone to the economist in the forum).

I'll try another stealer, but they all read the same 'books' around here.

one is for the cigarette lighter option and there is also another one for the 115VAC outlet option.
