ADH8796 4runner Build

Well we got about an inch of ice followed by seven inches of snow this past week so me and two buddies decided to go help some of the unfortuate individuals that were stuck because of the weather. Friday night we were called to pull out a jeep rubicon on 35's, a chevy 2500HD on 37's, and Yukon Denali. When we arrived the chevy had a broken belt that was getting replaced and then it needed to be jumped. After that it didn't take much more than a small tug and he was up the hill and out of the way. Next was the Rubicon who had slid off an embankment bairly stopping before hitting several large trees and mostly sitting on two tires (passenger side). We took my rig, my friends FJ60 locked F/R on 35's with bumpers and a winch, and my buddies SAS 3rd gen and after some careful planning and 3 winches we were able to extricate the rubicon with no damage. The Denali was an easy hook up and pull. Anyway all that to say that I didn't get a single pic of it because it was pitch black and in the middle of the sticks. We also pulled out a few other including an ambulance with patient still inside. But again no pics.

Anyway it was an eventful weekend and managed to do a little wheeling as well which resulted in a busted passenger side tail light and a crack passenger side rear view mirror. I have a couple videos that I'll try to upload later.

Hey quick question, how much uptravel are you looking at with the ORI's?

I am looking at dropping to a 10" C/O, but it looks like the 12" ORI compresses an inch more than the 12" King's do....so it may be an alternative
 
Sounds like an awesome day last week. I actually went driving around looking for somebody that was stuck just so I could pull them out.

Also I have a passenger tail light from my 98 if you need one. Its got a scuff on it but it works good and isnt broken. Pm me if your interested.

I'm only running about 2.5" of up travel.

Thanks for the offer but my new one came in today so I'm all set.
 
I ordered some 2.0" ballistic joints to replace my heims on my trac bar. I knew over time the heims would start to make a little noise and I hate noises. The Ballistic joints are the same as the ones I'm running for my radius arms just smaller. As always i'm very pleased with the quality of the product and really like how easy they are to rebuild when they eventually wear out.

 
Went on a little trip to Byrds Adventure center with a couple guys. The weather wasn't bad when we were there but we had gotten a couple inches of rain the day before so It was rather sloppy and lots of running water down the trails.














And this is the wall at Byrds Adventure center. I've never been able to pull all the way up on it because my departure angle just wouldn't allow it. But this was my first attempt at it since the SAS and I was really surprised that with a little maneuvering I walked right up it. My buddy wasn't quite as lucky as he broke his front drive shaft.

Wow that is sloppy as hell! Looks like an awesome time, what style front d-shaft was your buddy running?

Yeah it was nasty but the tires were really hooking good in the rocks. My buddy was running a drive shaft he built and it would have been fine if he had another 3" of slip in it. His springs wrap so much that it pulled the splines out almost all the way and then twisted them at the end. He's planning on taking his rig to king of the hammers so he's going to have a better drive shaft put together before then.

Nice vids though. It's crazy to see your 4Runner just walk up that wall, especially after seeing those other posts you made where the buggys were having a hard time with it.
 
Noo! Dang Photobucket. I had this thread saved so I could use it as reference for my internal snorkel but now you're out of bandwidth! Any way you could get me some pictures of that process?
