Adjusting Gas Pedal Location and Brake Help

Just what it says. Can you adjust the location of the gas pedal? Closer/farther? I just picked up a 2000 Sport and the guy before me was really tall. When I accelerate I am catching carpet with my foot and not even coming close to accelerating hard. I didn't have this problem in my 2001.

I would get down and check it out for myself but it's about 2 degrees out. If anybody has done this I would be curious.

On a side note, my brake pedal is really hard to push but eventually loosens up to how it's supposed to be normally. Is this air in the line, bent tubing, stuck brake parts or something else? I guess I will start with bleeding the brake lines for air.

My thought is that it's a hell of a lot colder than 2* outside now.

I'd guess that the carpet is your problem. Get down there and press the gas pedal all the way down and see why it's snagging. I don't know this for sure, but would highly doubt there is any easy way to move the pedals.

Is your brake pedal only hard when it's cold out? I don't know the cure, but the last couple times it got really cold out, today and yesterday for example, after sitting outside for several hours my brake pedal was so hard they just about didn't work. Felt like it would without the engine running. Since is garaged at night I only really notice it when it's been outside in extreme cold not running for a few hours or more. The brakes work fine after just a few minutes of running though.

That's pretty much the case. It goes back to normal after a little but for a first few minutes it's damn hard to push. I think it's a little strange considering I lived in Iowa for a number of years and this cold is nothing new. Never had the same issue with the 2 Taco's I've had. Oh well.

I took a look at the carpet and it doesn't seem get in the way. It's almost as if the angle of the pedal is different on my 2000 than on my 2001. Odd but I guess I will just have to get used to it. Either that or replace it with one of those awesome foot pedals. Ha!

Thanks for the input and try to stay warm up in Windsor. It was -28 with the wind last night.
