Keep the intent of the current rule ("No creepy or gigantic...") but as Thai also states it's a guide to good behaviour.
There should be an overall maximum signature depth, equivalent to a certain number of pixels, because lines of text can be resized.

Thai and others,
This poll is actually a moot point because this option does exist in the User CP in this version of the software. If you don't like the sig's then turn them off when you view.
 
Wow...at 9:54 (central time), the poll is a dead heat 21 vs. 21.

For a decision to change the current settings, i would need a majority vote for one way or the other.

Likewise. I haven't come across any sigs that I thought were out of control. I think for the most part people don't go too crazy with their sigs and I can always scroll past them easily. I actually like seeing what mods people have in their sig because it is a good point of reference when looking at pics of their rig, especially if it has links to the mods. :)
 
im a member of the no picture in signature thread, its called an avatar people, but hey, as long as people are blatently allowed to break the rules, i might as well join them right? ive wheeled several times with gator greg and hes a good guy but if the mods are going to allow people to bend the rules to their likings then you have no order. im sorry, but ive seen WAY too many pictures of 4runners with clear corners on this page... enough is enough, maybe if the people here did something different everyonce in awhile besides clear corners and rear diff breather mods when the most water they see is a puddle on the way to the grocery store then i would be more interested... as for now im strongly considering turning the signature line off, which isnt fair to me, as i still want to know what peopel drive and what (real) modifications they have done to it.

I for one voted for "I dont care," because I just really don't care. If some people need to get their rocks off by posting excessively long/large sigs, then so be it. It's not that hard to just scroll down past the fluff on the screen.

Why does everyone have to b***h about stuff on the internet?
 
Leave it as it is, hardly anyone has large sigs, they're akll gone, except for RunnerUp, and he's just doing it to be a douche obviously, never seen any member ever have a sig that big before.

I am confused...why is everyone dissing the rear breather mod??!! I think that it is a "real" mod and it does require some work to do it. For me, it is a real useful mod for any off-roader because you never know when you have to cross a river/stream or go through mudpits.

RunnerUp...have you done the breather mod?? I see that you have a snorkel...why??
 
I currently administer one forum, and am a member of several others. Nothing bothers me more about forums than huge signatures (see mine). There is just simply no reason to show the huge image(s) of your ride on EVERY post. That's why we have galleries. Link to the gallery.

I voted no images...or the 100px tall is fine too.

Don't know about the others, but I wasn't "dissing" it, I just don't consider something that minor as note worthy.

And why do people only seem to do the rear diff?.

The front diff and tranny have breathers too. Aren't you worried about water in them?
 
And back to the subject of overly large sig lines, it's not a problem on one of the Toyota boards I moderate on. Everyone's sig files are to the point. Even any of the other Toyota boards I frequent, no one has sig files as large as you see here. I guess most people don't see tinted windows and XM radio as significant. Now if you had an 8-track tape player ...

Of course both are. :D I was just point out how big Scott's sig was. (Matt at least shrunk his down a bit from a while back. It was just as bad as Scott's a couple months ago.)

BTW, did you notice some of the other clear violators in that thread too. :D
 
Two thoughts

One one hand, there is already a picture in your avatar (on the left) side of your post. So, do you really need a huge picture in your signature, too?

On the other hand, I know that most of us are pretty proud of our 4Runners, and like to show them off. There is an option not to display signatures under "Thread View Options."

I leave the signatures on by default (usually, the more photos in a forum, the better), but it can get old if somebody makes several posts in a row (pictures, instructions, etc.) and another huge photo shows up in every signature. When you post, you have the option not to show your signature on that post.

lol,, yeppers, but thats why I asked "why have rules, if they are not enforced, lol
I hope Im not giving the wrong impression here, I do like this site, thats why Im here... but seriously, some have such HUGE sigs, and it is a pain, the rules SHOULD BE ENFORCED...
