I hate the chunky letters because road salt collects on them and it makes the vehicle hard to wax. Plus the vehicle looks better and does the world need to know that I have a V-8 under the hood?

I took the dealer's 'advertising' off my car the day I drove it home. The license plate frames came off with a screwdriver in about two minutes. The sticker on my brand-new paint was easy, too.
I leased my SR5 the day after it came off the car carrier, so the decal never had time to "meld" with the paint. It came off with only my fingernail to peel it. (On my 2002 Nissan Sentra, I had to use a hair dryer because the emblem was on there a month or two.)
They are not paying me to advertise, so I agree with the rest of you that they should not put that sh*t on there without my permission. It is also nice if you have to get your car serviced at a dealership other than the one where you bought/leased it. No more, "Why didn't you take it there?" questions.

If the dealer pays for my vehicle in full, they can feel free to put a sticker and badge on it. Other than that, I can't stand it when the dealer puts a badge or sticker on the car without asking. I actually don't mind the license plate frame because it can be removed easily. I still have my dealer frames on and don't plan on taking them off.

my parents know someone with Regency Auto Group so they don't mind sporting their plate frame. I just haven't bothered to take mine off.

I think it looks tacky as well, but there is a simple solution. You tell the dealer that you will not take delivery of the vehicle if there are any dealer stickers, plates, etc. on it. Tell them this in advance & avoid them even putting them on there in the first place. Tell them that you will be sure to reccomend them to all of your friends, but you will nto be a mobile billboard for their dealership.

I think most people just want to have the choice. For my Runner, I knew better and I requested up front not to have any of that stuff up my truck. Just a personal preference, but the customer shouldn't have to ask. The dealer should be the one to check if it is OK.
On my last car, when I test drove it it didn't have any decals or plates or other logos on it, but while I was signing the paper work, they added all that crap while they were "prepping" the car. That was sneaky, and that is what pisses people off.

Heck : I am even more extreme with this. I will not even allow the name Toyota on my vehicle. And I hate white letters on tires. I like the black-out look. Nothing worse to me than the manufacture

Why not? I think it gives it a cleaner look. And I don't care if anyone knows that I have a Sport (if they know anything they could tell by the hood) or if they know what brand and model I drive. To me it looks cluttered on the tailgate with everything. It took me less time to take the Toyota stuff off than it did to take off the dealer stuff.

Reasons why I de-badged:
1- It makes washing and especially waxing much easier
2- I really enjoy a cleaner look
3- I paid Toyota $ 34 K for a product and not the rights to advertise for them.
4- It makes it different from every other T4R

No! No one does since I remove the "LV" from the bag.
thats just wrong! maybe you should have not bought one in the first place! or go for the designs without the monogram on them I wasn't going to post anymore on this, but here's what happens at a dealership (at least mine) When a new car comes in, our service and detail techs go through a list of things, starting with a PDI, then the tech puts our license plate frames and inserts on the car, then the car is detailed and the detail techs put our dealer logo sticker on the back. That procedure doesn't change, whether the car is a sold unit or it's heading to the lot where it might sit for a month or two. 99.99% of the customers don't even pay attention to that stuff. We've had quite a few people that wanted to make sure they were going to get the stickers and the frames because they were proud of where they bought their car.
Anyway, I just didn't know how many people on this board are so militant about this subject. I learn something new everyday. Again, just my opinion, who cares?

As for the manufacturer badging, I always leave it on. The only badges I really don't like on these trucks are the ones on the liftgate. I think they look out of place. I really like the look of the door badge. For the little V8 badge on my grille, I wouldn't even think of taking it off! It is all about status!!!
