advice for the 20k service

It's about that time (enough so the maint. light blinks at me). My previous service:

5k, 10k, 15k = oil change and tire rotation.

20k seems to be a nice round number to get some more stuff done.

Anything major I should worry about this time, or should I just go for the $52 oil change/checkup/tire rotation?

FYI: Since my last oil change, I have been towing a 5000# boat 80 miles every weekend.

If I go to the dealer, the service fee will be in the $300's I'm sure.

I guess the tranny fluid is good for a while since it is sealed right?

Are you following the service recommendations given to you by Toyota? You should have gotten a service manual with the truck that tells you exactly what the dealership will give you at each scheduled maintenance. I just had my 20,000 mile check up, and all that is scheduled is an oil change and tire rotation. If you've been doing a lot of heavy off-roading, then they recommend doing a bit of lubing.

FYI, you may want to follow the recommendations and get your service book stamped. I've been told by several people that if I don't keep accurate track of my service, both when and what is done, Toyota can weasel out of honoring the warranty if something breaks.

You should've had your differential fluid replaced at 15k. The manual Toyota gives you tells you what you should do at certain intervals.

20k doesn't require anything but oil change and tire rotation. But, if you didn't have your differential fluid replaced at 15k, you should have it done. If you haven't changed out your AC filter, it would be a good idea to change that out too. Do it yourself and save some money.
