Advice needed on AMP placement!!!

Hey all - I trust the expert advice given on this forum. I have ordered a JL stealthbox along with the recommended 250/1 amplifier. I am hoping that folks can give me a clue about where to put the amp - my chessie Annie (see avatar) LIVES in the back end of the 'Runner so I need to keep at least the wires hidden from her razor-sharp teeth. Any suggestions??? I've seen under-seat, as well as on the back of the rear seats...HELP!!!

under the front seat, under the back seats, behind back seats with only a few inches of wire going underneath the back seat to the front.

I put my amp behind the stealth box. Meaning... I opened up the panel and trimmed out the section where my stock sub was at and mounted it to what was left of my stock sub enclosure. Basically all that is left behind there is the back panel to the eclosure to mount my stock amp and my sub amp.

I had the same scenario as you did. During snowboarding season we stuff the back full of gear. After a days run everything is pretty much wet back there cuz of the boots, clothes, etc. I did this so 1) you see no after market equip. other than the box, & 2) the amp is protected from water, etc.

Don't worry about ventilation. As of now I haven't had the amp cut out on my not once.

Yup..the 250/1 can easily fit where the stock JBL amp fits in the rear cargo side.

Does anyone have any pixs of the stock amp location? My system does not have JBL and I want to be VERY specific with the installers...thanks so much for the quick replies!!!

Check out the beginning of my install. I don't have the factory JBL either. I just removed the inner cargo tray and built a wooden surface to mount the amp to.

yep, what 4alarm posted is pretty accurate on what to do, especially since you do not have the JBL setup back there. Just remove that cargo box and cover and the JL enclosure covers that all up
