Advice on how to remove sway bar end links.

Anyone have any tips on removing the endlinks for maint. I am having a heck of a time getting them off. How do you stop them from spinning so you can remove the nut?

Air impact gun is what I used.

You might want to try crabbing the other end with some plyers. I forgot what there is the grab to prevent it from spinning.

Front links? A large(ish), maybe 6mm or 7mm, allen wrench fits in the end of the bolt to hold it still.

I don't think the rear links are a problem, and can be easily removed with a 12mm and 14mm wrench.

If it's the fronts and it's just spinning try the hex key comment above. I did that on mine and the hex end on the link quickly stripped. There is a wrench flat on the back side of the mounting surface that you can try to get a wrench on. I used a bicycle hub cone wrench on one of mine. The other one wouldn't budge so I had to cut it off with a cut off wheel.

6mm hex key. Mine was loaded up with dirt & grime. I had to clean that out before I could get the key in far enough so that it wouldn't strip.

Yep - use the hex key like others have suggested.

I used a pair of vice grips on the washer on the other side to stop it from spinning. If you're careful you should be able to use the vice grips without tearing the boot.

I agree, this works well but try the hex key first.

If you have to use vise grips, make sure they're VERY tight the FIRST time you try to spin the nut. I tore the boot on one of my originals because I didn't tighten the vise grips as tight as I could in the first place and the boot spun, tearing on the ridges of the vise-grips.
