Hi, i have an 02 4runner with king coilovers in the front, and the back is stock, running something like 265/70/17, i want to be able to put 2 sizes bigger or roughly 2.5inch bigger tires, does anyone know how much i can raise the front since its 4wd with out messing anything up, i already have a 1in diff drop, but need to know how high i can lift it in the front before i will get any problems, or what will need to be upgraded to lift it higher, also i want to lift the rear 2in, can i just change out the coil or do i need to do the shock as well? any advice?

Since you had a diff drop then you can lift it up to 3 in and be fine but I would not recommend spinning the coil retainer on the kings all the way to the bottom cause you will have no droop travel and the ride will be harsh. You should be able to adjust the retainer 3/4 of the way down and clear a 285 which is a 33. As for the rear you are going to need longer rear shocks once you put new coils in. If I were you I would look for a set of Land Cruiser front 7 wrap coils which give you a 3" lift in the . Thats my plan because I am putting icon coilovers in the front and lc coils in the rear with 33's. Good luck

That's not going to happen without hacking the fenders and the firewall and rewelding new plates on the firewall. You can go up to a 285/70/17 which is a 33 (like Phd said). you are running about a 32 right now so you'll be able to go 1" larger with a 3-4" lift. 3 is about the max lift you can do in the front without risking CV axle issues.

What Phd said about the coilovers is right on too. If you adjust the collars all the way down you will ride like crap and also you'll be maxing out your droop at all times and constanly stressing you CVs. You'll also need longer shocks in the rear so they don't break when you flex out.

my front is at 39" with 285's if that gives you something to base it on. 3.5" is prob. the most youd want to go

rear lift

thanks for all the help, i think im going to go with the OME 890 or 891's is there a big difference in the two, cant really find to many LC coils, dont feel like going to a junk yard either, not sure on the shocks yet....maybe just OME or any better recommendations? also how long of install time do you think for the rear coils and shocks, if anyone has links on instructions for doing any of this or feels like giving some insight that would be great thanks!

I have ome 890's, but unless you are going to run factory bumper and not much weight at the rear you would be ok. If you plan to get a custom bumper like some of the guys on the forum then I would recommend 891's. Brian2sun has the 891's and his runner sits level with his new rear bumper.

I got the 891s for the "what if's". If I load up a ton of stuff for an expedition trip, or if I get a custom bumper. You get the idea. Ive heard that they are stiff, but acceptable ride unloaded too.

Toytec's website has installation instructions of rear shocks and coils.

Hit up Steeze if you're still looking for some LC coils..Just saw this in the Classifieds.

Here are some 8 wraps if you want to go that route. Way cheaper than OME coils too.

The rear install is easy. Put it on jack stands, unbolt the sway bars, take off the panhard bar, unbolt the shocks and remove the springs. Install the new springs, new shocks, reattach sway bars, and reattach panhard bar... you are gonna be off about an inch or so trying to get that panhard bar back on. I used a ratcheting strap, whatever you want to call it... wrap it around where you bolt in the panhard on both sides and tighten it up til you are able put the bolt back in. Tighten everything and you're good to go. It takes about an hour. Faster with 2 people too.

edit: blcktpgsr you beat me to it
