AEM Brute Force Cold Air Intake

I have the opportunity to purchase a brand new AEM brute force cold air intake (AEM part number 21-8400) for my 1998 Toyota 4Runner Limited for $100. I was wondering if any of you guys have this setup on your rig and if so, has there been much increase in the performance? Thanks for your help.

I am interested to know as well.
I was looking at getting the AEM dry flow since many users on here have complained about the MAF getting messed up because of the oil in the filter.

Having my K&N cold air intake seemed to have decreased my 4runner's power. It lost alot of low end torque, and I can't tell whether or not the high end torque is affected because I normally do not need to rev in those ranges.

I guess you can say I regret buying the K&N system, but I don't have the heart to take it off since its just plain badass to have it on ur runner

save yourself some money and do the deckplate mod. same performance gains in my eyes.... and it gives you a fun easy project to do...

i have a k&n cai, and i feel a little more power in the low rpm's. its not a whole lot, but it was noticeable. and it does look bad ass though

yeah, i have an S&B CAI and I'm not really sure if it gave any performance increase at all, but I love the sound and it does look awesome.

The general consensus is that having a CAI is badass. Thus by logic, you must get it!

I've got the AEM installed. The dryflow is pretty cool, but not $200 worth of cool. I would have much rather used that money towards new shocks or coils, my roof rack, or gas. Either way, its over and done with. Looks good, dryflow beats the hell out of gunky MAS's, but the deckplate and a truflow (or whatever its called, I'm wasted)....mos def the way to go if you'd rather have $100 in your pocket for other things....
