AEROKROIL kicks PB Blaster's Tail!

Ok...for all of us who have used PB Blaster, I understand this has been the "go to" oil penetrant for stuck nuts, bolts, etc.

Years ago, I went by an aeronautical repair house and they had cans of "Aerokroil" all over the place. I had never heard of it before then so after speaking to one of the guys there, I ordered some and I can honestly say, this beats the socks off of PB Blaster! I have used PB Blaster for YEARS and I just got used to having to spray it on, wait, spray it on again, wait, turn the frozen fastener a notch or two, spray on more PB, wait again and then after what seemed forever, finally take off the item I was attacking.

With Aerokroil, there is very little waiting and this stuff is like a wizard in a can. I do not know what is in it, but it works like a champ! It is pricey but hell, my time is worth something and not having to wait and wait is awesome!

Anyone else tried this stuff? Are you a fan?

I used to buy Kroil stuff back in the 80's and 90's for the maintenance guys and the machine shop guys at my employer. It's fantastic stuff, and like you say, a bit pricey. It worked well for us.

I keep meaning to pick some up for some upcoming projects.

I had a set of lugnuts so frozen by salt spray that I was twisting off the lugs. I ran that test myself, 50/50 ATF and acetone against PB, and PB thrashed the ATF/acetone mix.

I keep hearing Kroil is better than PB, but I haven't tried it yet. $20 on Amazon vs. $6 at NAPA, it's hard to bring myself to order some.

Watch Kano Labs (producers of Kroil) website. They have sales on Kroil fairly regularly. They also have a number of other "snake oil" type of products that work well in their respective applications. A number of them date back to the 1950s and maybe even earlier.

If the quality and effectiveness of their other products is anything like AEROKROIL, I would not care if they started making products back in the stone-age. This stuff works!!!! (Can't give any experienced testimonial on their other "snake oil" products...)

I do a lot of work on forklifts for seafood companies that let the slime and salt water get all over their lift. Personally, I use Fluid Film lube and it kicks ass as far as I'm concerned. Haven't yet met a bolt I couldnt turn! Plus it actually smells kinda nice.

I thought Fluid Film was for undercoating to avoid rust? Admittedly, have not read the can yet but read about the rust protection in a few threads. I saw today that Lowes is selling it, $9 a can. Might have to pick up a can and try it out.

About Fluid FIlm

It's lanolin based, which afaik Kroil is not. I've used it on my tig and stick welding gloves to make them pliable again. I know farmers who coat their whole rigging with it, as well as marine service guys who coat the whole in and outboard motors with the stuff with no swelling of the hose, even natural rubber hoses. Point is, it's not just a lubricant; buying the stuff means having it for MANY uses, all of which can be found online, and most of which were found by accident!

You're also supposed to be able to coat the front of your car in the stuff before a long road trip, and bugs won't stick to it!
