After 200k+ miles, I am buying my second 4runner

Hey everyone! I am excited to say that my 2012 4R Limited 4wd should be delivered tomorrow!

My 2004 4R SR5 made it 203,000 miles with zero problems. Last week I had my first problem with rough cold starts. I ended up having to replace a coil. It was no big deal, but it finally pushed me to think about replacing her. I knew I wanted another 4runner, so I made the deal. I am really excited.

Glad to hear you had such great service out of your 04. (I'm only at ~80K with mine so it's good to know I still have a long road ahead of me). I'm sure someone else will get some good use of her still.

DUde, I have a '04 4R SR5 white and I still haven't hit 100k miles. I just hit 80k miles not too long ago actually, like around 6 pm earlier this evening. Just wow.

Sure. I went for the quick sale since I am buying the new one today.

First, let me tell you the problems that it did have.

• Fairly severe hail damage on hood and roof
• Cracked windshield (this was my 3rd one. After 200k, there were lots of rocks)
• Cracked headlight cover
• Some stains carpets inside (Not severe, but I enjoyed my 4runner )
• a bad catalytic converter code (had no impact on driving)(I never tried replacing the gas cap. Some people say this will fix this issue.)

With that in mind, the dealer was offering me $5k for trade in. I put it up at $6500 and sold it within 6 hours. I could have asked more, but I am not greedy and I wanted it gone. I was 100% honest about all the issues in the ad.

I commute a minimum of 300 miles/week. There was a stretch where I was putting 1000 miles/week.
