Installed an aftermarket stereo in my T4R (see my build thread below), head unit is a Kenwood DPX500BT.
Seems to work great except when trying to tune in a weaker AM station. Then I get this annoying "chirping crickets" sound (excactly like I described it, chirping crickets.) The sound gets intermittently louder and softer but it always seems to be present across the entire AM spectrum unless I am tuning in a really strong (local) station.
Any ideas? I had thought maybe it's some kind of electronic interference, and if so, would a filter of some sort help? Anyone else had this problem? I do not recall this being an issue with the factory stereo.
