Aftermarket headlights and HIDs?

OK, so I had an OEM headlight get destroyed last year and replaced it with a cheap aftermarket housing. The light pattern is less than desirable from this one, but I can see at night...
So now, I have one OEM and one AM. Its lame.
I want to upgrade to the DDM HID kit that some folks have here, but I want to get the lights replaced first.
My question is - go used OEM? or get another cheap AM and the kit and make it work?
OEM used is gonna run $150 at least if I can even find one.
AM will be $50 plus the DDM kit, so less than $100 for that.
Anybody have aftermarket headlights they are happy with?

I have aftermarket housings from RockAuto and an Fx-r retrofit setup in my truck. It is amazing. If you truly want the best possible light output this is the road to go. Other wise I would recommend factory housing from a 99 or newer 4Runner and some Hella or Silverstar bulbs. Just remember, whenever someone is going to give you advice on brighter or better lights, they will almost always be comparing it to true projector HID setups so why not go the best route first? :guitar3:

I bought OEM 99+ headlights off ebay for 60 shipped apiece. You just have to look for a little bit.

Just ordered the DDM Raptor kit with 35w 6K H4 hi/lo
and a set of ANZO crystal black headlight housing and side markers.
Hurry up you overweight caribuo herder!
