Aftermarket Leather...

Has anyone added aftermarket leather whether it be at the dealer or another vendor? If so do you have pics as well as prices. I like the interior of my Sport but I really think leather would add a touch of class.

Just bought 04 SR5... had the leather added by the dealer (who used a 3rd party installer) They asked for $1100, i got them to $800. Do it. It makes a world of difference. I will post pics tomorrow.

Where are you from. Usually there are Dealer Accessory Centers that will install leather seats. They are sort of a 3rd party at dealerships.

with the color of your truck, i'd get tan leather. just my opinion.

I'm glad I did the leather in mine although I will probably regret the color choice on those 100 degree days after it is parked outside at the office all day. It was already at the dealer installed when I picked it and had a little brochure about leather care from Toyota which I found kind of odd since leather is not a factory-installed option in the Sport.

That's a nice charcoal color...exactly what I want!

I'm not a big fan of the light grey factory color. There is one thing I'm curious about, did they paint or die all of the trim pieces on your seats to match your leather? Can you tell? I say this because there are only 2 factory colors for those plastics bits (light greay or tan).

Thanks for the compliment on the color. I didn't know the plastic only came in 2 colors. If they were dyed, I sure can't tell the difference between that and molded.

Sport 4Runners come with a charcoal/black interior fabric already.

Ok finally got some time to take these... Upon purchase, I had the dealer add leather. I was shown various leather samples, all different colors. At first I wanted the grey leather. The "aftermarket" rep told me that there is one, and only one exact match for the interior color combination in my 4runner. I'm not sure what the actual color is called, but it is tan. The grey did not look good once I saw the sample inside the car. The leather manufacturer is "Katzkin Leather Interiors Inc." Like I said before, dealer wanted $1200, finally got it for $800. I don't recall the leather in the limited, but the leather I have is not the typical, shiny, smooth leather I have seen before. It's more "wear and tear proof." Aparently, this is the highest grade leather. You kinda gotta feel it to know what I mean. Anyway.. here are some pics.

Oh, I forgot something. If I chose to go with the grey leather, I had to sign a two page waiver. It basically said that it is non-returnable. She told me that people have insisted on the grey (with my color combination) and didn't like it once they saw it on their vehicle.
