Aftermarket Motors

Yes I am a newbie however I have done my homework and I would think Im not the only guy with this question. There is a company ( HESCO in Birmingham AL) that builds 4.0L inline 6 motors for our arch nemesis Jeeps. These motors are mapped, blueprinted, balanced etc. When you get it delivered or have it installed they give you that motors blueprint and dyno in a handy dandy little booklet. They run about $4,600 and climb from there depending on your wallet. and they BOLT IN.

Who does this or something similar for 3rd gen motors? Ive seen Supercharging suggestions, switching to diesels etc. I like my V6, I don't want a new motor i just want a "super" 3.4l yota v6. Anybody know who does this? Yes its for the future, not swapping anytime soon but I cant seem to find this answer anywhere. I hear the HESCO guys are the best kept jeep secret on planet earth. Who is the toyota equivalent?

i just wonder sometimes about some of these places granted it may just may be one story but do they really only have a 3 month warranty on their motors?
and did this guy really get treated like that or is he just full of it?

Jasper kicks LC's ass. And their warranty is 3 yrs/100K on long blocks - not 3 months. I didn't know that about LC, 3 months is a joke on a custom engine. That's not standing by your work.

sounds nice but if it only lasts for 2 months who cares, you know what i'm saying, 3 months warranty is a joke, standard is 12mo/12K ,

think about it these are not race cars and were never meant to be, and why replace your proven 300K motor with something that may not last more then 3 months and your out 13K, i bet jasper could build you a sweet engine that would last for the same price, i'm not ragging on these guys (LC) to much because i don't know but i have heard numerous horror stories about some engine builders in my time and you want to make sure you do your research to the 10th power on this sort of thing.

it's funny becuase my company just received a shipment from lc engineering
and am wondering what we do with them or if it was someone just taking advantage of our shipping rates...hhhrrrmmm

Yikes! 2 months!?!? The point of the thread is to find as bulletproof a motor as there is. I think LC may be a bit extreme. Im not looking for a drag motor, Im looking for a dependable one that has around 10-20% more power. Looks like the trd supercharger is the way to go.

I think rather than paying that much for an LC engine that they only stand behind for 90 measley days, I would to a Cummins turbo diesel or V8 swap. Or get a Jasper engine, a supercharger, and still have $6 or $7,000 left over to buy a complete extra vehicle.

:iagree: LC fumbled big time and now all of us know it. Burned on their customer service, you gotta state your case not send a cease and desist letter. Guy shelled out mucho dinero, I want 12 months for 12K. Does anyone have a link for a V8 swap / thread? Do you have to swap out the axles, tranny etc?
