Anybody have any recommendations for a portable navigation system? Where do most of you place it? I really don't like the idea of sticking it on the windshield. Thanks in advance.

Generally, it's a bad idea to ask where you should stick it, especially on an open forum... because eventually someone will come along and tell you.

You should stick it in a dark place, maybe some where the sun doesn't shine.

I'll help you out. I did a lot of research before I bought mine about a year ago, and Garmin is the best in most catagories. I got the Nuvi 360 (i think that is the number) and it is perfect. It is small, voice navigation, very easy to use and it was a good price. I have used it countless times and it has never let me down.

As far as "where to stick it" I just use the little suction cup window mount that comes with it. I just mount mine when I am going on a trip and plan to use it, otherwise it goes back into the center storage.

Where to stick it - hm... On a serious note I got a Garmin 265T and vent mount for it. I put vent mount on passenger vent and to me it works just fine.
Just make sure you buy right vent mount - some of them are not strong enough.

Would that be the Northwest, ehee? Seriously though, I spend a few nights every month in Vancouver and the weather has been very nice lately up there.
